2010 Photo Contest. January-September. Take a fresh look at the beauty around you in our city and participate in our 2nd Annual Photo Contest. We have categories for professional, amateur and youth. See our 2009 winners. August 29, "Butterfly Day" at the Conservatory, 1-5 p.m. See and learn about live butterflies! Learn how you easy and fun it is to raise butterflies, and how we can help these beautiful flying jewels of the garden. The Southeast Michigan Butterfly Association (SEMBA) and the Taylor Garden Club will be on hand to show you lots of ways to attract butterflies to your yard. There will be many different styles of butterfly 'houses' on hand, so you can see all the creative ways to raise them. Face painting, butterfly crafts, prize giveaways, refreshments and more. $2 per person. All proceeds go to garden development and educational programs at the Conservatory.
