| | August 29 | Our Summer Concert Series Finale Extravaganza!!! *Two time Grammy award winning drummer Jerry McKenzie’s Just Jazz Trio will return to finish out our 2012 series. This time around they will feature Dave Tatrow on Trumpet and Detroit’s very own international Sax legend, George Benson. This will be a special engagement and will have a slightly higher ticket price of $15 but will include 3 hours of live music starting at 5p.m to 8 p.m, and feature special Gourmet Wines, Beers, Cheeses, Chocolates and Meats. | | August 22 | The Shelia Landis Quartet. *Shelia is a 7 time winner of “Outstanding Jazz Vocalist” award from the Detroit Music Awards. A Detroit born singer of blues and jazz since 1973, she released her first Album in 1981 called jazz Rendezvous. In 1991 she teamed up with 7 string guitarist Rick Matle and together they continue to explore all sorts of inventive collaborations of funk/pop, jazz, bebop, blues and Brazilian rhythms! “When Landis scats, well, the spirit of Ella Lives” Chuck Berg, Jazz Times | | August 15 | The Dave Bennett Trio. *Dave performed with the Jerry McKenzie Just jazz Trio at our 3rd concert and was a huge hit. This phenomenal clarinetist is currently at Ann Arbor's Big Sky Studio recording his debut Album for Mack Avenue Records. He will be returning to the Conservatory this time with his very own Trio.
