Support

As the plants, trees, and shrubs are sleeping for the winter, the staff and volunteers at the Taylor Conservatory and Botanical Gardens are still hard at work!

These months are a time of planning and preparing for the next season and for years to come. The years 2021 and 2022 were filled with expansion of the gardens including irrigation and hardscape, plus further development of our Master Plan.

The years 2023 and 2024 will be a time of volunteer development and major project maintenance. We are asking for not just personal and corporate monetary donations but assistance with providing  in-kind services to complete some of the major work needed in the Gardens;

  • Sealing the Bluestone Terrace

  • Updating electrical systems

  • Replacing the irrigation master control

  • Painting and repairing the Masco Pavilion

  • Hard pruning and replacing fallen plants, shrubs and tress in the parking lot beds

  • Repairing welds and faulty screws in the DTE domed structure

  • Replacing worn benches

  • Refurbishing art pieces

  • Continuing the removal of invasive plants and trees

  • Replacing dying trees and shrubs

We ask that you open your heart to the Taylor Conservatory Foundation and help continue our mission to maintain botanical gardens for the public to enjoy and learn from, promote art and culture, and preserve our natural environment.

We love our volunteers!

Volunteer contributions of all ages and experience are welcome. (Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult).

Got a group? Master Gardener’s, Girl/Boy Scout Troops, church or corporate groups are welcome.

Tasks include weeding, watering, raking, and mulching; event set-up, tear-down, parking and everything in between; identifying native plants and wildlife habitats; sponsor solicitation and fund development. When you volunteer at the Gardens, you help others understand the transformative power of nature in our lives and have the deep satisfaction that you are helping make our community a stronger and more beautiful place.
