Music & Art in The Gardens 2020

Updated: Mar 2, 2020

Beats and Butterflies - Taylor Conservatory’s Summer Announcement

Music & Art in the Gardens 2020 music line-up is ready to rock Metro Detroit!

Music Coordinator for the summer concert series and Taylor Conservatory Foundation Board Member, Mary Boonenberg, has put together a fantastic arrangement of new and returning bands. Each band will perform at the Taylor Conservatory and Botanical Gardens every Wednesday, June 3rd through August 5th from 5:30pm - 8:30pm. Join us each week for live music, pop- up bar and restaurant, local artists’ displays, chair masseuse, and fellowship in the Gardens.

Family-friendly, the concerts are a great venue to meet old friends and future pals. The food offerings under the Masco Pavilion are an excellent spot to entertain business associates and out of town guests, especially since we are located within minutes from Metro airport and all major freeways. Some seating and tables are provided but most bring a chair or blanket to enjoy the show from our Grand Lawn.

The show opener, Big Ray and the Motor City Kings, will perform June 3rd on the Bluestone Terrace with classic cars of all makes and models on display along with artwork by Trillium Academy students and teacher, Kelly Potter. There is no fee to enter the car show fundraiser, but the $5 cover charge applies to all those who would enter the concert and Pavilion area. Rain or shine, the show will go on. During inclement weather, the venue will move to the City of Taylor’s Sheridan Pavilion on Pardee Road.

Butterflies? Yes!

The Garden Groomers, Taylor Conservatory’s team of horticultural volunteers lead by Louise Doute, has selected ‘Butterflies’ as the 2020 Garden theme. Butterflies represent unique pollinators that are so crucial to maintaining our natural environment. Plan to visit the special gardens created to entice our flying friends while discovering the talents of our local artists displayed at Music & Art in the Gardens. New volunteers are always welcome to assist with our grounds and events. Visit the ‘Get Involved” tab at www.TaylorConservatory.org to submit your name and talents.

We are excited to announce that Fritz Enterprises, Inc.,and Huron Valley Steel will be the title sponsor of the 2020 series. We appreciate Elaine Fritz and her family who were our very first Music & Art in the Gardens title sponsor nine years ago. Her continued generosity and support has made this and so many other Conservatory endeavors possible throughout the years.

Concert co-chairs and Board Members, Teri Fritz of Dolphin Manufacturing, Inc. and Realtor, Erin H. Dobbins, are seeking additional sponsors to assist with the weekly event but also to help raise money for the Taylor Conservatory Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit organization. Admission to the shows is $5 per person and helps keep the gardens growing. Sponsorship and advertising opportunities are listed under the ‘Support Us’ tab of our website and also by request via Executive Director, ErikaSanderson511@gmail.com.
